Written by an American doctor named Ray Bennett – not “Being alive is by far your greatest achievement.” Subtitled The Guide To Accomplishing Little And Feeling Great, Bennett's short treatise seems at first like another of those jokey-but-unfunny gift books they sold by the tills at Borders, back before Borders itself stopped achieving. Concerned about the stress he sees in in his patients, colleagues, and neighbors, he wrote The Underachiever's Manifesto, a little book he calls “the guide to accomplishing little and feeling great.”[1]. It was The book's subtitle is, The Guide to Accomplishing Little And Feeling Great, but it does make some really valid points. For obvious reasons, it's entirely appropriate that a book entitled The Underachiever's Manifesto never really became a huge seller. Hubby got this book for Christmas. The Underachiever's Manifesto . One of my mentors recently gave me a book entitled “The Underachiever's Manifesto: The Guide to Accomplishing Little and Feeling Great.” I wonder if he's telling me to slow down in 2012… No way, Bob—bring it on! Aside from the fact that it came from his holier-than-thou little sister and hubby is still trying to not be offended, it's a really great read. And we would do well to think deeply about the nature of success and failure. So, I read the title to this little gem and I really don't know what to expect. In 2006, Ray Bennett, an American doctor, wrote a book titled, The Underachiever's Manifesto.
